My thoughts on completing 10 years of Stoicism journey

On October 18th, I marked a deeply personal milestone: exactly ten years since I began my journey into Stoicism. It started quietly on an early morning, sitting on a yoga mat, turning the pages of The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday and Stephen Hanselman. I didn’t know it then, but that single philosophy would spend the next decade profoundly shifting my perspective, grounding my choices, and adding genuine substance to my life.

Looking back, the beauty of Stoicism lies in its practical architecture. It isn’t an abstract academic exercise; it is an active operating system for human life built upon four core virtues: Courage, Wisdom, Justice, and Temperance. Navigating the highs and lows of the last decade meant constantly returning to these virtues, finding strategies to implement them, and turning to principles like the Dichotomy of Control—the vital discipline of focusing strictly on what is within our power and entirely letting go of what is not.

Throughout this journey, I also discovered beautiful, striking overlaps between Western Stoic thought and Eastern wisdom, particularly the teachings of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita. Both traditions urge us to act with duty and virtue without becoming pathologically attached to the outcomes. Combined with practices like Memento Mori (the profound reminder of our mortality) and Amor Fati (the practice of unconditionally loving one’s fate), this philosophy transforms how you make big decisions and how you handle the days when things simply do not go your way.

If you are looking to elevate your personal development or seeking a framework for daily betterment, I highly encourage you to dive into the primary texts of Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus.

To help bridge the gap between ancient theory and daily execution, I recently released the book, The Four Stoic Virtues. I wanted to create a single, comprehensive reference guide that details exactly what these virtues mean and how history’s greatest leaders, warriors, and thinkers successfully embodied them. It is available now wherever books are sold, and I truly hope it serves as a valuable asset for your own personal and professional journey.

Thank you for being a part of this decade-long milestone. Whatever challenges you are facing today: stay calm, relax, keep moving forward, and trust the process.
