The quality of your life is largely dictated by the quality of your beliefs. If you have limiting beliefs around money, like money is the root of all evil, or that rich people are greedy and make money through illegitimate means programmed in your mind, then no matter how much you try, you’ll never succeed in accumulating great riches.
If you want to become a millionaire, then the first and foremost thing that you need to do is allow yourself to become a millionaire. You must uproot your toxic beliefs, otherwise you’ll always encounter negative emotions such as guilt or shame when money comes your way that’ll further prevent you from becoming wealthy.
As T. Harv Eker writes, “Step 1 for getting rich is to become aware of your non-supportive beliefs around money and wealth, and change them into supportive ones.”
Beliefs are not etched in stone; you can change them whenever you want. If you have a certain belief that’s not helping you, just discard it and replace it with one that gets you to the next level.
If you believe “More money equals more problems,” replace it with “More money equals more freedom and more choices in all aspects of my life.” If you believe “Money is a limited resource and wealth building is a zero-sum game,” replace it with, “There’s enough money to go around for everyone who is willing to become rich.”
You can reboot your brain and reprogram new beliefs around money any time. You just need to stop coming in your way and get rid of those debilitating fear-based beliefs that are holding you back from creating a successful life for yourself.
