listen to your heart

listen to your heart

Each of us human beings has been blessed with an amazing gift — the vision of creating a better life for ourselves and our loved ones and the ability to make our dreams a thriving reality by setting and sticking to meaningful goals and eventually accomplish them.

The first step in pursuing and actualizing our dreams is to know what they truly are. And this requires going within and listening to our hearts.

As we work towards weaving our dreams, most of us unfortunately listen to others, not ourselves. We either hear their dreams, wishes and plans and adopt them in our own lives or worse let them put their dreams, wishes and plans on us. Due to this, we start pursuing dreams that don’t galvanize us and end up taking half-hearted actions to make them a reality. This lack of genuine intention and alignment makes it extremely hard to achieve our dreams. And even if we do accomplish them, the happiness is short-lived and we never truly experience profound joy and fulfillment.

Instead of listening to others, it’s much better to listen to our own hearts. Each of us is a different entity; we all have our own unique journey and a set of desires and interests that best resonate with us. Instead of seeking answers outside, we must inquire within.

“Listen to your heart. It knows all things, because it came from the Soul of the World and it will one day return there.”

― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

If you pay close attention and stay quiet enough for sometime, you’ll be able to listen to the wisdom and intelligence in your heart, and understand the beats and rhythms of the dreams that live within you.

As you spend time in quiet reflection and start contemplating on and answering deep questions about yourself and your life, you’ll feel more and more purposeful and aligned. You’ll feel amazing as you’ll spend a good chunk of your time each day in the proximity of your dreams. Only then, you’ll truly experience the magic and wonder of dreams and empower yourself to achieve them no matter how many obstacles or setbacks come your way.
