As we live our lives, we try and hope to find goodness from things outside our realm of control — good news, good weather, good coffee, good luck.
We need to stop relying on external circumstances for goodness.
Goodness starts from within us. It’s a treasure within our soul waiting for us to be discovered. We need to excavate and bring goodness in our thoughts and our actions. Only then, we’ll able to experience goodness in its purest form whenever we want.
As Marcus Aurelius wrote in his personal reflections, “Dig deep within yourself, for there is a fountain of goodness ever ready to flow if you will keep digging.”
