When a music composer delivers a breathtaking live performance on the stage, it’s natural for everyone to heap praises on her and label her a “maestro.” However, we forget that there’s an entire orchestra and their epic, matchless synchronicity and collective skill behind the stellar performance.
Without an accomplished orchestra, the title maestro is just a misnomer. Here’s the thing:
The maestro at the center doesn’t make the orchestra look great.
A great orchestra makes the person at the center look like a maestro.
And the same applies in the business world as well.
The genius at the top doesn’t make the team look great.
A great team makes the person at the top look like a genius.
