why sex detox is a good idea

Sometimes things just get out of control and this holds true for sex and relationships as well. In that case, it may be wise to take a step back and realign with ourselves and what we truly want. When it comes to our body and health, many people sign up for reset programs to flush toxins out of our bodies, whether it be for a few days, a few weeks or even a month. We can use the same approach for sex. We can dedicate our time during these days for self-introspection and focus on ourselves. When we don’t engage in physical sex, we are able to understand what our needs are and what we crave. In the end, it’s all about eliminating behaviors and thought patterns that are not serving us and recalibrating ourselves to our true instincts.

Like any diet or health plan, once the commitment is over, we need to have a strategy to keep things on track and continue being aligned with our sexual interests. Meditating, journaling and enjoying solitude are great ways to obtain realignment and get in touch with our core inner self. It’s worth experimenting with a sex detox plan as its benefits can go a long way not only in our bedrooms and romantic lives but in other aspects of our lives as well.
