you can afford to pursue your mighty goals

Excuses are dream stealers. They are evil tactics and instruments through which the Resistance within us prevents us from embracing and expressing our highest potential. We all tell ourselves that now is not the right time to chase our dreams, and instead wait for the “perfect” stage in our lives. And as an outcome, we never end up doing anything. We choose the route of inaction over action. That’s sad, isn’t it?

When it comes to pursuing our Big, Hairy and Audacious Goals (BHAGs), we simply can’t not afford to do it. No matter what stage of life you’re in, you can easily take small steps and actively work toward any meaningful goal without breaking the bank, losing time or using up other precious resources.

You must cut off the weeds of excuses and start marching forward. As Marie Forleo guides, “Excuses are little lies that we tell ourselves, like we don’t have enough time or we don’t have enough money or resources, or that we don’t have the know-how to move ahead on our biggest dreams. These little words can be deadly.”

Progress is better than perfection. Action, even a tiny one, is better than inaction. Don’t worry about accomplishing your mighty goals, instead, just focus on giving your best today and keep repeating this process every single day. Small, daily actions can lead to big accomplishments. As philosopher Will Smith said, “You don’t set out to build a wall. You don’t say ‘I’m going to build the biggest, baddest, greatest wall that’s ever been built.’ You don’t start there. You say, ‘I’m going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid.’ You do that every single day. And soon you have a wall.”

It’s time to let go of being a success cynic, and believe in your heart of hearts that you can afford to chase your biggest dreams under any circumstances.
